History of the Chevrolet Malibu

The Chevrolet Malibu first premiered in 1964 as a small family sedan. It began as a rear-wheel-drive vehicle that offered 300 horsepower in a small block V8. The fourth generation of the Malibu would be the last for more than 30 years, as the car was discontinued in 1983.

The Malibu reemerged in 1997 in the form of a front-wheel sedan with both a 4-and 6-cylinder engine that generated around 150 to 155 horsepower. It became GM's top-selling passenger car in 2010 with nearly 200,000 units sold. The car has continued to transform as the years have gone by, and it will continue to do so as time comes and goes.
